About this exercise

The Kneeling Finger Press is a forearm and finger strength exercise performed in a kneeling position on the floor. By shifting body weight onto the fingertips and pressing through them, the exercise targets the finger flexors and forearm muscles, building grip strength and hand resilience for climbing, martial arts, and athletic performance.

How to Perform

  • Kneel on the floor and lean forward, placing your fingertips on the ground directly under your shoulders
  • Spread your fingers comfortably and keep your wrists neutral
  • Shift enough body weight onto your fingertips to create meaningful resistance
  • Press through your fingertips and slightly extend your fingers to perform the pressing motion
  • Control the movement back to the starting position without collapsing the fingers
  • Keep your core braced and your spine neutral throughout
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
