About this exercise

A bodyweight glute isolation exercise performed on all fours where you extend one leg backward and upward to target the gluteal muscles through hip extension. The supporting core and hamstring act as stabilisers throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Start on all fours with your hands directly under your shoulders and knees under your hips
  • Engage your core and keep your back flat and neutral
  • Lift one leg backward and upward, keeping the knee bent at 90 degrees
  • Squeeze your glutes at the top, ensuring your hips stay square to the floor
  • Lower your leg back to the starting position in a controlled manner
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching legs
