Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Knee Tuck Oblique Crunch.

EasyAbsObliques

About this exercise

The knee tuck oblique crunch combines a knee draw with a lateral crunch to target the obliques and rectus abdominis together. Performed from a seated or lying position, the movement shortens the side of the core through both a tuck and a crunch, making it an efficient isolation exercise for the oblique muscles.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your hands placed lightly behind you for support and legs extended
  • Lean back slightly to engage the core and lift your feet a few centimetres off the floor
  • Simultaneously draw one knee in toward your chest while crunching your torso laterally toward that knee
  • Squeeze the oblique at the top of the movement
  • Slowly extend back to the starting position with control
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching, or alternate sides each rep
