EasyGlutes

About this exercise

The knee hug glute stretch is a standing or lying bodyweight mobility drill that targets the glutes and hip rotators. By pulling one knee toward the chest you create a deep hip flexion that lengthens the gluteus maximus and the surrounding hip musculature, relieving tension from prolonged sitting or lower-body training.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright or lie flat on your back with legs extended
  • Lift one knee toward your chest and wrap both hands just below the kneecap
  • Gently pull the knee as close to your chest as comfortable, feeling a stretch deep in the glute
  • Hold the position for the desired duration while keeping the opposite leg relaxed
  • Release slowly and repeat on the other side
