The Kettlebell Wood Chop is a rotational power exercise using a kettlebell held with both hands, swung diagonally from high to low in a chopping motion. It targets the obliques and core while also engaging the shoulders, hips, and legs in a coordinated full-body pattern.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a kettlebell with both hands at one shoulder
  • Keep your arms relatively straight and begin rotating your torso to initiate the chop
  • Drive the kettlebell diagonally downward across your body toward the opposite hip
  • Allow your back heel to pivot as you rotate, engaging the hips fully
  • Reverse the movement with control, returning the kettlebell to the starting position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other
