About this exercise

The Kettlebell Standing Reverse Curl is a standing curl performed with an overhand (pronated) grip, shifting the emphasis from the biceps to the brachioradialis and forearm extensors. Using a kettlebell adds a balance challenge and requires extra grip engagement due to the offset handle placement.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding a kettlebell in each hand with an overhand grip (palms facing your body), arms fully extended
  • Keep your upper arms pressed against your sides throughout the movement
  • Curl both kettlebells upward toward your shoulders by flexing at the elbows
  • Pause briefly at the top and squeeze the forearms
  • Lower the kettlebells slowly back to the starting position under control
  • Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions
