About this exercise

The kettlebell snatch and swing is a full-body power combination that blends the explosive hip-driven swing with an overhead snatch in one fluid sequence. It trains hip extension power, shoulder stability, and cardiovascular conditioning simultaneously, making it an efficient choice for athletic development and metabolic conditioning.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and a kettlebell on the floor between your feet
  • Hike the kettlebell back between your legs to load the hip hinge
  • Explosively drive your hips forward to swing the kettlebell upward
  • As the kettlebell rises to shoulder height, punch your hand through and guide it overhead, catching it in a locked-out position with your arm fully extended
  • Stand tall at the top with the kettlebell overhead and your core braced
  • Lower the kettlebell in an arc back down and immediately transition into the next swing
  • Maintain a fluid, rhythmic sequence for the desired number of reps
