About this exercise

A powerful full-body exercise that combines the kettlebell clean — pulling the bell from the floor to the rack position — with an explosive push press overhead using one arm. The movement trains strength, coordination, and athletic power through the hips, shoulders, and core simultaneously.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart, the kettlebell on the floor between your feet
  • Hinge at the hips, grip the handle with one hand, and swing the bell back between your legs
  • Drive through the hips explosively, pulling the bell upward close to your body
  • Guide the bell into the rack position at shoulder height, elbow tucked, wrist straight
  • Dip slightly at the knees, then drive upward, using leg power to initiate the press
  • Lock the arm out overhead with the bell balanced above the wrist
  • Lower the bell back to the rack position under control, then swing it down for the next rep
  • Complete all reps on one arm before switching sides
