About this exercise

The kettlebell reverse spider curl is performed lying prone on an incline bench with a pronated (overhand) grip. This position locks the upper arms vertically and removes momentum, while the reverse grip shifts emphasis to the brachioradialis and forearm extensors for direct forearm development.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to roughly 45 degrees and lie face down with your chest on the pad
  • Hold a kettlebell in each hand with an overhand (pronated) grip, arms hanging straight down
  • Curl both kettlebells upward toward your shoulders, keeping your elbows stationary and pointing toward the floor
  • Pause briefly at the top and squeeze the forearms
  • Lower the kettlebells slowly back to full arm extension
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
