About this exercise

The kettlebell reverse press on floor is a chest-focused pressing movement performed lying on your back with the kettlebell held in a reverse (supinated) grip, elbows kept close to the body. The floor limits the range of motion and removes leg drive, placing full tension on the chest and triceps.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor
  • Hold a kettlebell in each hand with a reverse grip (palms facing your feet)
  • Position the kettlebells at chest level with elbows close to your sides
  • Press the kettlebells straight up by extending your elbows until your arms are fully extended
  • Pause briefly at the top, then lower the kettlebells back to chest level under control
  • Keep your lower back flat against the floor throughout the movement
