About this exercise

A bench press variation using kettlebells with a supinated (reverse/underhand) grip while lying on a flat bench. The reverse grip shifts emphasis to the upper chest and recruits the biceps as synergists, offering a unique stimulus compared to standard pressing.

How to Perform

  • Lie on a flat bench holding a kettlebell in each hand with a supinated (palms facing toward your head) grip
  • Position the kettlebells at chest level with elbows below the handles
  • Brace your core and keep your feet flat on the floor
  • Press the kettlebells upward to full arm extension, maintaining the supinated grip throughout
  • Slowly lower the kettlebells back to the starting position at chest level
  • Keep wrists stacked directly above the elbows during the press
