About this exercise

The Kettlebell Plank Pass-Through is a core stability exercise that combines an isometric plank with a dynamic kettlebell transfer under the body. Passing the kettlebell from hand to hand requires resisting rotation and lateral shift, intensely challenging the deep core muscles and obliques.

How to Perform

  • Place a kettlebell just outside your right hand and assume a high plank position with hands shoulder-width apart
  • Keep your hips level and your core braced throughout the movement
  • Reach your left hand under your torso, grip the kettlebell, and slide it across to the left side
  • Return your left hand to the floor and stabilize before the next rep
  • Reach your right hand under your torso, grip the kettlebell, and slide it back to the right side
  • Continue alternating the pass for the desired number of repetitions
  • Avoid letting your hips rotate or sag as you reach under with each arm
