About this exercise

The kettlebell one-arm snatch is an explosive, full-body power movement where a single kettlebell is swung from between the legs and driven overhead in one fluid motion. It develops total-body power, shoulder stability, and cardiovascular conditioning simultaneously.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and a kettlebell on the floor between your feet
  • Hinge at the hips and grip the kettlebell with one hand using an overhand grip
  • Hike the kettlebell back between your legs, loading the hips
  • Explosively drive your hips forward and pull the kettlebell upward, keeping it close to your body
  • As the kettlebell rises above your shoulder, rotate your hand and punch it overhead
  • Lock out your arm fully with the kettlebell balanced directly above your shoulder
  • Lower the kettlebell back to the swing position in a controlled arc
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
