About this exercise

A unilateral pressing exercise performed lying flat on the floor with a single kettlebell. The floor limits the range of motion at the bottom, reducing shoulder strain, while the unilateral load demands significant core anti-rotation strength to keep the torso stable.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor, holding a kettlebell in one hand at shoulder level with the elbow touching the floor
  • Brace your core and press the kettlebell straight up until your arm is fully extended above your chest
  • Pause briefly at the top, then lower the kettlebell in a controlled manner back until your elbow contacts the floor
  • Keep the non-working arm flat on the floor at your side for stability
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other arm
