About this exercise

The Kettlebell Lunge with Twist combines a forward lunge with a rotational torso movement at the bottom, challenging the lower body and core simultaneously. Holding the kettlebell at chest level, the rotation engages the obliques and stabilizing muscles while the lunge targets the quadriceps and glutes.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall holding a kettlebell at chest height with both hands
  • Step forward with one foot into a lunge position
  • Lower your back knee toward the floor until both knees reach approximately 90 degrees
  • At the bottom of the lunge, rotate your torso toward the front knee
  • Hold the rotated position for a moment, keeping the kettlebell at chest level
  • Rotate your torso back to center
  • Push through the front heel to return to the starting position
  • Repeat on the opposite leg
