About this exercise

A front raise performed with kettlebells in a leaning-forward position at the hips, isolating the anterior deltoid by eliminating body momentum and increasing time under tension. The offset weight distribution of the kettlebell adds a rotational stability demand compared to dumbbells.

How to Perform

  • Hold a kettlebell in each hand and hinge forward slightly at the hips with a flat back
  • Let the kettlebells hang in front of your body with palms facing each other or toward your body
  • With a slight bend in your elbows, raise both arms forward and up to shoulder height
  • Pause at the top and squeeze the front of your shoulders
  • Lower the kettlebells slowly back down under control
