About this exercise

The kettlebell kneeling one-arm bottoms-up press is an advanced shoulder exercise performed in a half-kneeling position while holding a kettlebell inverted (bottom facing up). Keeping the kettlebell balanced demands exceptional wrist stability, shoulder control, and core engagement, making it both a strength and a corrective exercise.

How to Perform

  • Kneel on one knee with the opposite foot forward, forming a 90-degree angle at both hips
  • Hold the kettlebell by its handle with the bell facing upward, arm bent and elbow at shoulder height
  • Brace your core and squeeze your glutes to stabilize the pelvis
  • Press the kettlebell straight overhead until the arm is fully extended, keeping the bell balanced and upright
  • Lower the kettlebell slowly back to the starting position with full control
  • Complete all reps on one side, then switch sides and repeat
