About this exercise

The Kettlebell Incline Bench Press is a compound upper-chest exercise performed on an incline bench using kettlebells. The incline angle shifts emphasis onto the upper pectoral fibers while the kettlebells allow a greater range of motion and require additional stabilization compared to a barbell. The front deltoids and triceps assist throughout the pressing movement.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to a 30–45 degree incline and sit back with a kettlebell in each hand resting on your thighs
  • Kick the kettlebells up to shoulder height and lie back, holding one kettlebell on each side of your chest with palms facing forward
  • Press both kettlebells upward until your arms are fully extended above your chest
  • Pause briefly at the top, then slowly lower the kettlebells back to chest level under control
  • Keep your feet flat on the floor, back pressed into the bench, and core braced throughout
  • Complete all reps, then carefully lower the kettlebells back to your thighs before sitting up
