Kettlebell Incline Alternate Curl

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Kettlebell Incline Alternate Curl.

EasyBiceps

About this exercise

The Kettlebell Incline Alternate Curl is performed on an incline bench with one arm curling at a time while the other remains extended, allowing greater focus and mind-muscle connection on each biceps. The incline position stretches the long head of the biceps more than a standard standing curl, enhancing the stimulus for growth.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to a 45–60 degree incline and sit back, holding a kettlebell in each hand with arms hanging straight down and palms facing forward
  • Keep your upper arms stationary against the bench pad throughout
  • Curl one kettlebell upward by flexing the elbow until it reaches shoulder height, squeezing the biceps at the top
  • Slowly lower that arm back to the fully extended position
  • Immediately curl the opposite arm in the same manner
  • Continue alternating arms for the desired number of reps per side without swinging the torso
