About this exercise

The kettlebell front raise is a standing shoulder isolation exercise that lifts a kettlebell directly in front of the body to shoulder height or slightly above, targeting the anterior deltoid. The shape of the kettlebell creates a slightly different grip angle compared to a dumbbell.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a kettlebell in each hand in front of your thighs with palms facing your body
  • Keep a slight bend in your elbows and your torso upright throughout
  • Raise both kettlebells forward and upward until they reach shoulder height
  • Pause briefly at the top, keeping your core engaged
  • Lower the kettlebells slowly back to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
