MediumQuadriceps

About this exercise

A unilateral lower-body exercise performed by stepping forward into a lunge while holding one or two kettlebells. The added load increases demand on the quadriceps, glutes, and core stability compared to a bodyweight lunge.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding a kettlebell in each hand at your sides, feet together
  • Take a controlled step forward with one foot, landing heel-first
  • Lower your back knee toward the floor until both knees form approximately 90-degree angles
  • Keep your torso upright, chest tall, and core braced throughout the movement
  • Drive through the front heel to push yourself back to the starting position
  • Alternate legs for each rep, or complete all reps on one side before switching
  • Keep the kettlebells stable at your sides — avoid letting them swing forward
