About this exercise

The Kettlebell Clean and Push Press is a full-body power exercise that combines an explosive clean into the rack position with a dip-and-drive push press overhead. It develops hip power, pressing strength, and total-body coordination in a single fluid movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and one or two kettlebells between your feet
  • Hinge at the hips and grip the handle(s) with a neutral grip
  • Drive through your hips explosively to swing the kettlebell(s) upward and clean them to the rack position at shoulder level
  • Let the bell(s) rotate around your wrist so they rest on your forearm(s) at the rack position
  • Dip slightly at the knees, then drive upward explosively to press the kettlebell(s) overhead
  • Lock out your arms overhead with biceps close to your ears
  • Lower the kettlebell(s) back to the rack position, then return them to the floor under control
  • Reset and repeat for the desired number of reps
