About this exercise

The kettlebell clean and press is a full-body compound movement that combines a hip-hinge clean to rack the kettlebell at shoulder height, followed by an overhead press. It develops explosive power, shoulder strength, and total-body coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart with a kettlebell on the floor between your feet
  • Hinge at the hips, grip the kettlebell, and swing it back between your legs to build momentum
  • Drive through your hips explosively to pull the kettlebell upward and guide it into the rack position at shoulder height
  • Stabilize in the rack position with your elbow tucked and the bell resting on your forearm
  • Press the kettlebell overhead until your arm is fully locked out
  • Lower the kettlebell back to the rack position, then hinge and lower it back to the floor under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
