About this exercise

The Kettlebell Alternating Biceps Curl is a standing isolation exercise that targets the biceps one arm at a time using kettlebells. Alternating between arms allows each side to work independently, helping to correct strength imbalances while the kettlebell's offset center of mass adds an extra grip and forearm challenge.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with a kettlebell in each hand, arms fully extended at your sides and palms facing forward
  • Curl one kettlebell up toward your shoulder by flexing at the elbow, keeping the upper arm stationary
  • Squeeze the biceps at the top of the movement
  • Lower the kettlebell in a controlled manner back to the starting position
  • Immediately curl the opposite arm to complete one full repetition
  • Continue alternating arms for the prescribed number of reps
