About this exercise

An intermediate-level kneeling stretch that targets the hip flexors and quadriceps simultaneously. By combining a deep lunge position with a reach for the rear foot, this stretch addresses tightness in the anterior thigh and hip complex, improving hip extension and flexibility.

How to Perform

  • Kneel on your right knee with your left foot placed flat on the floor in front of you, forming a 90-degree angle at both knees
  • Engage your core and keep your torso upright
  • Shift your hips forward until you feel a stretch along the front of your right hip and thigh
  • Reach back with your right hand and grasp your right ankle or foot, pulling it toward your glutes to intensify the quad stretch
  • Keep your hips square and avoid arching your lower back
  • Hold the position for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Release and repeat on the opposite side
