About this exercise

The Inchworm Front Arm Tap is a full-body mobility and conditioning drill that combines a hip hinge, plank walk-out, and alternating forward arm taps. It challenges core stability, shoulder strength, and posterior chain flexibility in a single flowing movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms at your sides
  • Hinge at your hips and place both hands on the floor in front of your feet
  • Walk your hands forward step by step until you reach a high plank position
  • Tap one arm forward along the floor, then return it; repeat with the other arm
  • Walk your hands back toward your feet, keeping your legs as straight as possible
  • Drive your hips up and return to standing
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, alternating the leading arm each rep
