About this exercise

The Inchworm is a dynamic full-body mobility and warm-up exercise that stretches the hamstrings, activates the core, and builds shoulder stability as you walk your hands out to a plank and back. This version emphasizes controlled movement and full hip extension.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
  • Hinge at the hips and place both hands flat on the floor in front of your feet
  • Walk your hands forward, one at a time, until you reach a full plank position
  • Pause briefly at the top with the body in a straight line from head to heels
  • Walk your hands back toward your feet, keeping the legs as straight as possible
  • Stand back up and repeat
