About this exercise

A plyometric conditioning exercise where you hop in place while alternately extending each foot forward to tap your toes on the floor. It builds lower-leg strength, coordination, and cardiovascular endurance with minimal equipment.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart, arms relaxed at your sides
  • Shift your weight onto one foot and hop slightly off the ground
  • Extend the free foot forward to lightly tap your toes on the floor in front of you
  • Return to center and immediately repeat with the opposite foot
  • Alternate sides in a continuous, rhythmic pattern
  • Keep your core braced and land softly with each hop
