About this exercise

A kickboxing technique where the kicking leg travels in a wide horizontal arc, striking a punching bag with the heel or sole; it builds hip mobility, leg power, and full-body coordination while providing a cardiovascular challenge.

How to Perform

  • Stand in a fighting stance with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Shift your weight onto the supporting foot and chamber the kicking knee upward in front of you
  • Pivot on the ball of the supporting foot and swing the kicking leg outward and around in a horizontal arc
  • Strike the punching bag with the heel or the blade of the foot at the target height
  • Retract the kicking leg quickly after contact
  • Return to your fighting stance and repeat, then switch to the other leg
