About this exercise

A corrective mobility drill that trains active external rotation of the hip joint. It targets the deep hip rotators and glutes to improve rotational range of motion, reduce joint stiffness, and support better movement patterns in squats, lunges, and athletic activities.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor
  • Keep your pelvis neutral and engage your core lightly
  • Slowly let one knee fall outward, externally rotating the hip
  • Move only as far as your range of motion allows without the pelvis tilting
  • Hold briefly at the end range, then return and repeat on the other side
