About this exercise

The cable hip adduction targets the inner thigh muscles by pulling one leg across the midline of your body against cable resistance, helping build strength and stability in the adductors.

How to Perform

  • Attach an ankle strap to a low cable pulley and fasten it to the ankle nearest the machine
  • Stand side-on to the machine and hold the frame for balance
  • Start with the working leg pulled out to the side, away from your body
  • Pull the working leg across the front of your body, toward and past the midline
  • Squeeze your inner thigh at the end of the movement
  • Slowly return the leg to the starting position, repeat, then switch sides
