About this exercise

The heel to heel tap is a plyometric jump exercise where you leap off the ground and tap your heels together at the peak of the jump before landing. It develops lower body power and explosiveness while training coordination and airborne body control.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Bend your knees slightly and swing your arms back to load the jump
  • Explode upward, driving your arms forward and up for momentum
  • At the peak of the jump, swing both legs inward and tap your heels together
  • Separate your feet before landing
  • Land softly through the balls of your feet with knees slightly bent to absorb the impact
  • Reset and repeat for the desired number of repetitions
