About this exercise

The hanging leg tuck is a bodyweight core exercise performed while hanging from a pull-up bar. By tucking both knees toward the chest, it effectively targets the lower and upper abdominals while also challenging grip strength and lat engagement.

How to Perform

  • Grip a pull-up bar with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder-width and hang with arms fully extended
  • Engage your core and keep your body from swinging
  • Draw both knees upward and toward your chest in a controlled tucking motion
  • Hold the tucked position briefly at the top, squeezing your abs
  • Slowly lower your legs back to the hanging starting position
  • Avoid using momentum to swing the legs up
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
