Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Hanging Advanced Tucked Front Lever Hold.

HardAbsCore

About this exercise

An intermediate front lever progression where the hips are extended further than in the basic tuck, creating a longer lever arm and increasing demand on the lats, abs, and core. The knees remain bent but the hips are pushed away from the chest, bridging the gap between the tucked and full front lever positions.

How to Perform

  • Grip a pull-up bar with an overhand grip, hands slightly wider than shoulder width
  • Hang with your arms fully extended and depress your shoulder blades
  • Bend your knees but push your hips back and away from your chest, unlike the full tuck
  • Engage your lats and core, then rotate your hips upward until your body approaches a horizontal line
  • Keep your arms straight and hold the position with maximum tension throughout your body
  • Lower back to the hanging position in a controlled manner
