About this exercise

The handstand push-up against the wall is an advanced bodyweight pressing movement that challenges the anterior deltoids, triceps, and upper traps under full bodyweight load in an inverted position. The wall provides balance support, allowing you to focus on the pressing mechanics rather than freestanding balance.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall and place your hands on the floor about 15–20 cm from the base of the wall
  • Kick up into a handstand position with your heels resting against the wall for support
  • Keep your body in a straight line from wrists to heels, core tight
  • Slowly lower the top of your head toward the floor by bending your elbows out to the sides
  • Stop just before your head touches the floor
  • Press forcefully through your hands to extend your arms and return to the starting position
  • Maintain controlled breathing and a tight body throughout the movement
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
