About this exercise

The hamstring bridge march combines a glute bridge with alternating knee lifts to challenge hip stability and core control. Maintaining a raised pelvis while marching in place makes this a demanding anti-rotation and hip-strengthening drill.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent, feet flat on the floor hip-width apart
  • Press through both heels to raise your hips into a bridge position, squeezing your glutes
  • Keep your hips level as you lift one knee toward your chest to 90 degrees
  • Hold briefly, then lower that foot back to the floor
  • Immediately lift the opposite knee in the same manner
  • Continue alternating legs while keeping the hips stable and elevated throughout
  • Complete the desired number of reps per side without letting the hips drop
