About this exercise

The half to full jumping jack is a progressive cardio drill that begins with arms raising only to shoulder height (half jack) and then extends to a full overhead jumping jack. The combination challenges coordination, elevates the heart rate, and serves as an effective warm-up or conditioning exercise.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump both feet out wide while raising your arms to shoulder height, performing a half jack
  • Jump feet back together and lower the arms
  • Immediately jump feet out wide again while swinging both arms all the way overhead, performing a full jack
  • Jump feet back together and lower the arms to complete one full cycle
  • Continue alternating half and full jacks at a steady, controlled pace
