Front Plank against Wall

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Front Plank against Wall.

EasyAbsCore

About this exercise

A plank hold variation where the feet are placed flat against a wall, raising the hips higher than in a standard floor plank and shifting more load onto the core and shoulders. The wall provides a stable anchor that helps maintain proper body alignment throughout the hold.

How to Perform

  • Start in a push-up position facing away from the wall and walk your feet up the wall until your body forms a straight line
  • Place your forearms on the floor with elbows directly beneath your shoulders for a forearm plank, or keep straight arms
  • Brace your core, squeeze your glutes, and keep your hips level — do not allow them to sag or pike
  • Keep your gaze toward the floor to maintain a neutral neck position
  • Hold the position for the desired duration while breathing steadily
