About this exercise

The Front Leg Lift Under-Knee Tap is a standing bodyweight drill where you alternate lifting each leg in front while tapping your hand under the raised knee. It develops hip flexor strength, core stability, and balance while adding a rhythmic coordination challenge.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet hip-width apart and arms at your sides
  • Lift your right leg straight up in front of you, bringing the knee toward hip height
  • Simultaneously bring both hands under the raised knee and tap them together
  • Lower the right leg and return to the starting position
  • Immediately lift the left leg and repeat the tap under the left knee
  • Keep your standing leg slightly bent and your core engaged for balance
  • Maintain a smooth, alternating rhythm for the desired number of reps
