About this exercise

An isometric core exercise where you hold the crunch position with the legs in a frog stance — soles of the feet together and knees out to the sides. The combination of leg position and sustained contraction places intense, continuous tension on the abdominals.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back on a mat and bring the soles of your feet together with knees dropped out to the sides in a frog position
  • Place your hands lightly behind your head or cross them over your chest
  • Contract your abs and curl your upper body off the floor into a crunch position
  • Hold this contracted position, keeping your lower back relaxed toward the floor
  • Breathe steadily and maintain the tension for the desired duration
