About this exercise

A standing shoulder conditioning drill where you press your arms in three successive directions — forward (front raise press), out to the side (lateral press), and overhead (top press) — in a continuous sequence. The multi-directional movement targets all three heads of the deltoid and builds shoulder endurance and stability.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, arms at your sides or held at chest height in a ready position
  • Press both arms forward to shoulder height, keeping them straight
  • From there, move both arms out to the sides in a lateral raise motion
  • Raise both arms overhead to complete the top press, reaching fully upward
  • Lower with control and return to the starting position
  • Keep your core braced and avoid shrugging your shoulders during the overhead portion
  • Repeat the three-direction sequence for the target number of repetitions
