About this exercise

A dynamic combination exercise that pairs a forward lunge with a punching motion, training lower-body strength, balance, and shoulder power simultaneously. The punch adds a rotational and anti-rotation challenge while keeping the heart rate elevated.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet together and fists raised to chest height
  • Step one foot forward into a lunge, lowering your back knee toward the floor
  • As you lower, extend the opposite arm forward in a punching motion
  • Push through your front heel to return to standing and retract your arm
  • Alternate legs and arms with each rep
  • Keep your torso upright and core braced throughout the movement
  • Move with control on the way down and drive powerfully on the return
