About this exercise

Forward Hop on a Padded Stool is a plyometric exercise in which you hop forward onto and off a padded stool, developing lower-body power, coordination, and explosive leg strength. The padded surface provides a softer landing and challenges balance and reactive ability.

How to Perform

  • Stand a short distance behind the padded stool with feet hip-width apart
  • Bend your knees slightly and swing your arms back to load the jump
  • Explosively hop forward, landing softly with both feet on top of the stool
  • Absorb the landing by bending your knees and keeping your chest upright
