About this exercise

A gentle neck stretch that targets the posterior neck muscles by lowering the chin toward the chest. It relieves tension in the upper trapezius and cervical spine commonly built up from prolonged sitting, desk work, or screen time.

How to Perform

  • Sit or stand tall with shoulders relaxed and spine in a neutral position
  • Slowly lower your chin toward your chest, allowing the neck to flex forward
  • Optionally, place one or both hands on the back of your head and apply gentle downward pressure to deepen the stretch
  • Hold the position for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Slowly raise your head back to the upright position
