About this exercise

A bodyweight mobility drill performed against a wall using a foam roller to activate and strengthen the serratus anterior. Rolling the foam roller up the wall with your forearms teaches proper scapular protraction and upward rotation, making it useful for shoulder health and overhead mobility.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall and place the foam roller horizontally against it at chest height
  • Place both forearms on the foam roller and press lightly into the wall
  • Engage your core and gently push your shoulder blades forward away from your spine
  • Slowly slide the foam roller up the wall by lifting your arms overhead while maintaining protraction
  • Keep your lower back neutral and avoid arching as you reach up
  • Hold the top position for a moment, then slide back down in a controlled manner
