About this exercise

The Floor T Raise is a prone bodyweight exercise where you lie face down and lift both arms out to the sides in a T shape, targeting the upper trapezius, rear deltoids, and rhomboids. It is an excellent corrective and postural strengthening movement for the upper back.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on the floor with your forehead close to the ground and arms extended straight out to each side, forming a T shape
  • Squeeze your shoulder blades together and lift both arms off the floor as high as comfortably possible
  • Hold the top position briefly, focusing on the contraction in your upper back and rear delts
  • Lower your arms back to the floor in a controlled manner
  • Keep your neck neutral and avoid shrugging your shoulders toward your ears
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
