About this exercise

The flexion leg sit-up with straight arms is an abdominal exercise performed with bent knees and arms extended forward throughout the movement. Keeping the arms straight removes the momentum advantage of swinging them, placing more consistent tension on the abs.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Extend both arms straight in front of you, parallel to the floor, pointing toward your knees
  • Engage your core and curl your torso upward, keeping your arms in that fixed straight position
  • Continue rising until your upper back is fully off the floor and you are seated upright
  • Slowly lower back down under control, maintaining the straight-arm position throughout
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
