About this exercise

A seated or standing stretch targeting the feet and ankles, mobilizing the calves, shins, and plantar fascia. Regular practice improves ankle flexibility and reduces tightness from prolonged standing or athletic activity.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor or a mat with your legs extended in front of you
  • Point your toes away from you, then flex them back toward your shins, alternating slowly
  • Rotate your ankles in wide circles — 10 rotations in each direction
  • Place one foot over the opposite knee and gently press down on the toes to stretch the plantar fascia
  • Switch feet and repeat on the other side
  • Finish by standing on your toes, then rocking back onto your heels to stretch the front of the foot
  • Hold each position for several seconds and breathe steadily
