MediumBiceps

About this exercise

The EZ barbell spider curl is performed lying face-down on an incline bench, allowing the arms to hang freely and keeping the biceps under constant tension throughout the entire range of motion. The angled grip of the EZ bar reduces wrist strain while targeting the biceps.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to a 45–60 degree incline and lie face-down with your chest at the top of the pad
  • Let your arms hang straight down and grip the inner handles of the EZ bar with an underhand grip
  • Curl the bar upward toward your face by contracting the biceps
  • Hold the peak contraction briefly at the top
  • Lower the bar in a slow, controlled manner back to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
