About this exercise

The EZ Barbell Bench Press is a compound chest exercise performed on a flat bench using an EZ-bar. The curved grip reduces wrist and elbow strain compared to a straight barbell while still effectively targeting the pectoral muscles, triceps, and front deltoids.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on a bench and grip the EZ-bar at the inner curved section, slightly wider than shoulder-width
  • Unrack the bar and hold it directly over your chest with elbows at about 75 degrees from your torso
  • Lower the bar to your mid-chest in a controlled arc
  • Press the bar back up until your arms are fully extended
  • Re-rack the bar after completing all reps
